Beornstan the Archdeacon : ウィキペディア英語版 | Beornstan the Archdeacon
Beornstan the Archdeacon also known as Byrnstan was a Dark Ages Catholic saint from Kent in Anglo-Saxon England.〔Blair, John (2002), "A Handlist of Anglo-Saxon Saints", in Thacker, Alan; Sharpe, Richard, Local Saints and Local Churches in the Early Medieval West, Oxford: Oxford University Press, p563.〕 Very little is known of the life of this saint and he is known to history mainly through the hagiography of the Secgan Manuscript〔( Stowe MS 944 ), British Library〕 and also The ''Catalogus Sanctorum in Anglia Pausantium''.〔Lambeth Palace Library MS99〕 He was Kentish, an archdeacon and was buried at St Augustine's Abbey so he was probably associated with the early Abbey. ==References== 〔
